Student Status
Students who participate in the Dual Enrollment program are considered to be “Non-Degree Seeking” because they have not graduated from high school. In most cases, Dual Enrollment students are minors, who require direct parental and school involvement in their academic affairs. Therefore, the Dual Enrollment Office requests the involvement of all parent(s), guardian(s) and school counselors to ensure that each student is set up for success while participating in the program.
- For partnerships with School District and/or High School’s, it is the responsibility of the Designated School Official to notify the Dual Enrollment Office of any changes to a student’s status in the Dual Enrollment Program.
Academic Status
The minimum ERAU GPA a student must have in order to continue active status within the ERAU Dual Enrollment program is a 2.0 on a 4.0 scale. If a student fails to maintain the minimum 2.0 ERAU GPA, then the student shall be placed on academic probation for the period of one term. If the GPA is not raised above the minimum 2.0 required, the student will be academically suspended from ERAU’s Dual Enrollment Program.
All situations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis with the Director of Dual Enrollment.
Please Note: Students may not retake courses while participating in the Dual Enrollment program unless they are given an exception by the Dual Enrollment Office.
A Dual Enrollment Student whose cumulative ERAU GPA falls below 2.0 will be placed on academic probation.
A Dual Enrollment Student on academic probation who fails to raise their cumulative ERAU GPA to a 2.0 or higher will be suspended from the ERAU Dual Enrollment Program.
For Dual Enrollment Students who have been academically suspended from the ERAU Dual Enrollment Program, a written petition for readmission must be sent via email to the Dual Enrollment Office.
Dual Enrollment Students that have been academically suspended are eligible to reapply for admission to the ERAU Dual Enrollment Program after completing a minimum of 15 high school semester hours of academic credit with a CGPA of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale or higher.
- All Students returning to the ERAU Dual Enrollment Program after being academically suspended will automatically be placed on academic probation. Should their ERAU CGPA fall below 2.0, they will be academically dismissed from the ERAU Dual Enrollment Program.
Program Status
Active student status is maintained through continued enrollment beyond the drop period in at least one Dual Enrollment course.
- Students remain in Active Student Status unless they
- Voluntarily Dis-Enroll from the Dual Enrollment Program
- Are academically or administratively dismissed/suspended from the Dual Enrollment Program
- Graduate from High School (Please Note: All ERAU Dual Enrollment courses must be completed before the student’s graduation date. If a student’s graduation date is set to take place during a term, then the student may not register for a course in that term.)
If a student is not enrolled in an approved Dual Enrollment course for a period of one academic year, they will become discontinued from the Dual Enrollment program.
If a student who has been discontinued from the Dual Enrollment Program wishes to return, they may contact the Dual Enrollment Office and provide a written request for Readmission. To be readmitted to the Dual Enrollment Program, the student will be required to submit a new Dual Enrollment Application and provide updated High School Transcripts.
- Courses previously taken with the Dual Enrollment Program will not re-qualify the individual as an active Dual Enrollment Program Student.
