Okaloosa Aerospace Academy and Choctawhatchee High School Instructor Ms. Tasha Bates has been selected as the 2019 Teacher of the Year by the Air Force Association Eglin Chapter.

The award was presented during the Annual Education Recognition Night ceremony held at the Eglin Air Force Base Armament Museum.

In addition to receiving Teacher of the Year honors, Ms. Bates was awarded $1,000 and presented with a Certificate of Recognition by Okaloosa County School District Superintendent of Schools, Marcus Chambers.

The Teacher of the Year award is given in recognition of outstanding performance as an educator and unequaled dedication to ensuring that America’s students are prepared for future aerospace technology challenges.
