Several Okaloosa Aerospace Academy Seniors were recently recognized for their outstanding academic achievement while participating in the Embry-Riddle Dual Enrollment program.

Students Gabriel Mercado, Aaron Edelen, and Cassidy Wiest (pictured above) were recognized at Choctawhatchee High School’s Senior Honors Night for earning a 4.0 GPA in all ERAU Dual Enrollment courses taken.

Choctawhatchee AFJROTC students who earned a 3.5 GPA or higher in all ERAU Dual Enrollment Courses taken were also recognized for academic excellence.

Okaloosa Aerospace Academy Instructors were also recognized for their Outstanding Teaching Performance in 2018-19.

Led by Mr. Blake Donald (Aeronautics, Aviation & UAS), Ms. Tasha Bates (Cybersecurity), Mr. Paul Spillane (Aviation Maintenance) and Major Scott Bates (Management & Logistics) were all presented with Certificates recognizing their commitment to academic excellence.

Ms. Tasha Bates has also been nominated for the 2019 Air Force Association – Eglin Chapter Teacher of the Year Award. The winner will be announced during the 2019 AFA Education Recognition Night ceremony held at the Armament Museum in Shalimar, FL on Tuesday, May 14.
