Admissions Requirements
When selecting students to participate in the Dual Enrollment program, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University considers all aspects of the student’s qualifications. During the admissions process, Embry-Riddle evaluates:
- Academic Rigor of all completed high school coursework
- Unweighted High School CGPA of at least a 2.75 (4.0 scale)
It is expected that all applicants:
- Are in grades 9-12 or equivalent (9th-grade students are reviewed on a case-by-case basis)
- Reside in a dual enrollment authorized state and/or country
All prospective students are required to complete the Online Application for admission to the program.
In circumstances where a students transcript reflects a pass/fail credit system, and/or, does not contain a CGPA or grades; a student may opt to supply standardized test score results may earn provisional acceptance to the dual enrollment program through their performance on one, or all of the standardized tests listed below:
- PSAT score of at least 1030 (ERW = 510 & Math = 520) -or-
- SAT score of at least 1000 -or-
- ACT score of at least 21
Standardized test scores are strongly encouraged but not required. Supplying these results allows us to gauge a student’s preparedness for post-secondary coursework.
Admissions Status
Any dual enrollment applicant that does not meet all the respective criteria above will be reviewed case-by-case and accepted or denied at the discretion of the Dual Enrollment Office or other designated Embry-Riddle school official. Upon meeting the requirements for admission to the program, a student will be officially admitted with no restrictions.
Provisional Admission Status is reserved for any prospective or returning Dual Enrollment Student who has been deemed by the Dual Enrollment Office as not fully admissible by program admissions standards. This provisional status will allow a student to take a maximum of one course during their first term. In order to have the provisional status removed after their first term, the student must meet all academic requirements.
If the conditions of the provisional admission are not met within this time, it may result in termination or suspension from the Dual Enrollment program. All 9th grade, and some 10th grade students, who apply to the Dual Enrollment Program may be subject to Provisional Admission Status for their first term as a Dual Enrollment Student.
All Dual Enrollment Students returning to the program from inactive status will automatically be placed on Provisional Admission Status for their first term.
